Primary School Curriculum
Foundation Stage (FS1/FS2)
In the foundation stages, we use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which offers children aged from 2 – 4 an outstanding environment and provides an education of the highest quality. This framework includes:
- A play-based curriculum.
- Teaching and learning materials from the British Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
- An emphasis on providing a secure and nurturing environment.
- The opportunity for each child to develop at their own pace within a structured environment.
- Individually planned learning experiences supporting and challenging each child.
- The opportunity for each child to work towards Early Learning Goals in six areas of learning. These are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem solving, reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
In the Foundation Stages, our aim is to provide the children with an environment where they feel happy and confident. Our teachers and support staff are committed to making the transition into school life as smooth as possible. We work closely with parents to give feedback on each child’s progress and help with issues such as separation anxiety both for children and parents!
